You will have people stopping dead in their tracks, sniffing the air, then demanding to know where they can buy this. This sounds scary-the people do have delightful expressions of wonder on their faces and they will most likely be work colleagues or friends :)
Firstly I’m not a huge BYREDO fan , I feel they are massively overrated and with the exception of ‘ Blanche’ I’ve never warmed to any of their #cents especially for the price point, I thought I’d try a sample of this one to be clear I haven’t bothered trying the OG ,this is a good fragrance leans more masculine to me and I can smell the aldehydes which are crisp citrus, I can smell the sandalwood and the rest of the notes blend well together with small hints of coconut, this is a ‘ shower smell ‘ clean and vibrant with the heaviness of the base notses stopping it from being to soapy or too clean, a good scent , I’m a gourmand girl so not my vibe but for those that like this smell you are going to enjoy this for a fraction of the RRP price x
Another lovely fragrance, I’m very impressed with the quality of these scents, this is a gorgeous sweeter scent ideal for summer I’m working my way through most of the sample sizes first and the thoughtful company sends 2 free ones which is very generous x
I have a small decant of the original that I like, but the lasting power on skin leaves a lot to be desired (and it can stain fabric once the vanilla ages). Tried the 5ml from Pure Essence Oils because they do classic vanilla really well (Cuir Belu is spot on, I wore that one loads last winter!) Had to upgrade to a larger size because I actually prefer the PEO version to the original! I find the opening of the original to be somewhat muddled — it could be because my decant is over a year old but tbh it was still a bit odd when I first got it, there’s a weird clash of lychee and cocoa that feels discordant. The PEO version is way smoother and I much prefer the opening. And it lasts! Sprayed it yesterday and I can still smell it on my scarf today — the original is nowhere near as persistent! I love the dry down of both. The PEO version retains the citrus for longer than the original but the dry down is the exact same, just stronger — a really classic vanilla (not too gourmand, not too synthetic. Guerlainesque!) And I like the citrus note anyway, so it works for me (it’s a sort of festive vanilla citrus, like the sadly discontinued but beautiful L de Lolita). Very much worth the money if you like the OG but don’t want to shell out for something that’s so light, or if you also find the opening slightly strange. Smells high quality, unlike some similar brands. Think I’ll get Citrus Vanille here next, very impressed with PEO’s ability to recreate expensive citrus vanillas that feel distinctly French if that makes sense lol. You get a fragrance that goes through distinct phases on your skin, like high quality brands, rather than something linear. I always think that’s a mark of good quality so top marks to PEO for creating something that actually performs like something absurdly expensive, rather than racing to the dry down. Impressive!

I actually finished the OG version of this few months ago and was considering buying another but thought I’d try this one as a sample. It’s definitely got the tones of the OG but to me this version is a bit sweeter than the OG and it lasts bit better , considering the OG is double the price of this version I really wouldn’t splurge on the OG as the difference in smell doesn’t warrant the £60 odd quid more , for blind buying this is a pretty sweet fragrance but it is great for layering with heavier gourmand fragrances x
I ordered this and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it I’d definitely consider a larger size bottle , it’s very long lasting and smells expensive, a richer deeper scent than I’d usually like but it is quite addictive x
I was actually kindly scent this as a freebie on my order to be fair I wouldn’t have bought it as there are so many dupes of this now you can pick up one from anywhere it seems however I do like this actually, it definitely preforms better than my OG bottle did when I had it , I’ve a few ME versions in my collection but sometimes they carry bit too much oud but this one is well balanced so if you like the OG you won’t be disappointed with this at all ( as an aside appreciate it was a freebie very kind of you xx)
Love this , not something I wanted to spend over £200 quid on but I couldn’t resist trying this one and it did not disappoint it’s gorgeous definitely unisex in my opinion and great for layering, definitely buying a bigger bottle, if you like a gourmand and prefer a richer vanilla that’s less sweet you’ll love this , great for autumn and winter x
I’ve never smelt the OG, but I can’t imagine it would smell any better, I love this scent , I ordered around 14 or so samples and this one was my favourite , it’s delicious I’m definitely going to buy a larger bottle, I must say this is probably the best clone house I have used the fragrances really are long lasting x
