I absolutely love this — I was genuinely shocked at how good it is! It smells just like it should, the only difference is in the opening minute or so, where the OG has a bit of an animalic funk that takes a few minutes to burn off. It’s the one thing I don’t enjoy about the original, I couldn’t just spritz it and go, it needs time to settle. But this, this is perfect! No opening skank, just the beauty of the original straight from the start! The accuracy of the scent profile is insane, I wore this side-by-side with the OG for this review and it’s super impressive.
It’s a lovely, buttery vanilla with a wonderful heliotrope and suede softness. Eternal staying power — I sprayed it in the morning, then went to my parents’ house around 10 hours later after work and as soon as my mother greeted me, the first thing she said was that I smelled nice. I’ve sprayed this before bed as it’s really comforting and it’s still there in the morning. My hoodie still smells like it, days later.
Such a classic and refined scent and Pure Essence Oils have really done a good job. I told myself I’d wait until pay day to get a bigger bottle, but cracked a few days later and got the travel spray in the meantime as I’m burning through my 5ml by wearing it every day lol. Absolutely love that the samples are big enough to wear the scent often (1-2ml like other brands do isn’t quite enough). Also really pleased that there’s a 15ml option so you can take it with you in your purse. The presentation of my first order was great, you can tell they really care about their customers (couldn’t believe the free samples, so generous!)
So happy I found these guys and super impressed with everything I’ve tried — this is my favourite so far but I also LOVED Sarrapian Tonka (insanely accurate to the OG) and Pink Sugar Drift, which I think is an original scent. The quality is excellent. I would definitely recommend this brand over others, not only for the perfume but the care that goes into the whole thing. I hope they go from strength to strength! Cuir Belu will be a staple in my collection, it’s unseated a whole host of designer stuff already!
